This seller sold me a LowEnd LEJ6 bass, which when it arrived, had a pretty bad grounding issue/60-cycle hum. He denied the bass ever having such a problem. I originally asked for him to cover the costs of taking the bass to a tech to have the problem identified, but I wound up asking for a full refund, as a bass at this price level should not have any such problems.
The seller agreed to the full refund, but stated he needed some time to come up with the money for the refund. I agreed to wait a few weeks, and also filed a dispute with PayPal, to ensure my interests were protected. A few weeks passed, and the seller stated that he had the money for the refund and asked me to ship the bass. Against my better judgment, I shipped the bass without receiving the refund (my mistake, clearly).
The bass was delivered a short time later via UPS, and the seller initiated the refund via PayPal. The refund was listed in a "pending" status for three days, and was then subsequently canceled.
Thus, I am now out both the bass and my $2,500. I have filed another dispute with PayPal and have also initiated a dispute with my credit card company.
At this point, the seller will not communicate with me at all, despite my many attempts to contact him. BUYER BEWARE: Do NOT engage in any transactions with this individual (robmobass). Feel free to contact me via DM/PM with any questions.
Bassguyry contacted me that there was a problem with the bass. I was skepitcal because I had no problems at all with the bass. But he said that there is a hum and offered to take it to a repair and that I would have to pay for the fix. I took him up on that offer. But he changed his mind and wanted to return it. I agreed to take it back but told him I used the money so it would take me about 3 weeks to get it to him. Just under 2 weeks in, bassguyry contacted me asking for an update. I told him that I was still working on coming up with the money and that it would still be the 3 weeks that I stated. He still has the bass of coarse. At that point he opened a paypal case. I'm not sure if he realized by doing that I could have made him wait alot longer because paypal dispute process takes a long time. But I wanted to take care of this situation. Bassguyry threaten me through paypal messaging that if I didn't have the money by July 31 he would escalate the case with Paypal. I agreed to the 7/31 deadline because it was in line with the 3 weeks I already told him I would have the money by. On 7/29 I contacted bassguyry and informed him to send the bass back and that I have the money. The bass arrived to me 8/4. After opening the package and finding that the bass is in good condition I issued the refund the morning of 8/4. On 8/5 paypal sent an email stating that the credit has been issued and the case has been closed. Also recieved notification from bank on 8/5 stated that the money has came out of my bank account because I have it set up to alert me of transactions over a certain amount. So as far as I was concerned, it was over with.
On Saturday 8/8 I get a notice that negative feedback was left from talkbass.com. I logged on and saw the feedback that he left and was upset. Wondering why he didn't contact me first, we had stayed in contact with each other this whole process. But to his defense I saw that he did send me a message on fri 8/7 but I didn't see it. So because I didn't get back to him on that friday he took it as if I was avoiding him. Never the less, On 8/8 I contacted paypal to find out what the problem was and got it handle. Bassguyry was paid in full 5:39 8/8.
As for the bass, I plugged it in to find that it does hum when operating the midrange knob and midrange switch. I played that bass for many gigs before this covid-19 breakout with no issues. but it is what it is. Currently I sent the bass to Tennessee to Brian Barrett the great luthier of LowEnd Basses to fix the problem. If any of you know about LowEnd basses then you know that these basses are high quality great sounding instruments. Brian is a very accessible luthier and can be contacted easily to verify that he has his hands on this bass. I will re-list it for sale once I receive it back from Brian.
Bassguyry no hard feelings on my end. Hope you feel the same!
