The pedal arrived while I was away and I was unable to try it out until I got back off the road (that was MY fault). When I contacted the seller, he said that I should have tested it sooner and was unwilling to help beyond a USPS claim hyperlink. The pedal was underinsured, so I ended up getting help directly from Nathan at Sushi Box.
