How is the tone of this bass?

This bass has a particularly modern tone - very aggressive midrange bite and an absolutely killer slap tone that is very addictive. Normally I boost the bass knob just a tad to get a little more of the bottomy thump that I like. The 3-band EQ is very powerful and allows a lot of flexibility.

I bought it as a backup to my Pedulla (and it does a very credible impersonation of the Thunderguts circuit!), but I'm finding it just doesn't see the kind of action I was hoping for with the gigs I've been doing lately.
