I specifically asked if there were any dings or scratches on the bass before buying it and he assured me there were none. Upon receiving the bass, I immediately noticed a big gouge at the top of the fretboard. After looking a little closer I noticed a couple other smaller dents on the fretboard (not a big deal) and that the nut was chipped (big deal).

To be fair, he agreed to pay for a nut replacement and did so promptly (although he used the "pay" method on Paypal instead of the "refund" method, so they took a few dollars out for fees). I ended up paying $20 to get the gouge filled in and smoothed out, which he chose not to reimburse me for. All ended up fine but just wanted to give a heads up that his inspection process doesn't seem to be very thorough.
