Sold the bass as in excellent condition doth no mention of a broken truss rod. When I went to adjust it, it was frozen. I immediately called Lakland for their advice and they referred me to s luthier they like. The luthier told me to remove the neck and the nut for the truss rod should screw out, which it did, after only 3 turns. I could see that there was only 1/4 inch of rod left, and the end was broken off and rusty. The seller accused me of breaking the rod, but he couldn't explain how the end of ruebrruss rod could be rusty if I'd just broken it. I asked for a refund which he refused.
