Feedback profile - LatinCubass

Bass arrived with very little packing in the box, Bass in case (no packing inside to hold firm), in box (no packing to hold steady) and it rattled around causing damage to the bass although there was no physical damage to the box (so no insurance claim). When I plugged the bass in there was no output sound, nothing. After talking to the seller I opened the wires up and jiggled them and it did start to work, also one of the tone knobs was damaged and did not turn freely, like it was bent. I could not trust this bass in a playing job situation. Seller wanted me to get this fixed local, he offered to buy and send a new pre amp section (this has a Marco two band pre-amp that he does not build anymore so I would have to choose another mfg's pre-amp and it would need to be black chrome and fit this bass). The seller then had the actual owner (teacher) call me, he too wanted me to fix local then the original owner called me and in conversation it came to be known that he had the bad tone knob fixed in the past. It seems they kept passing the buck. All three of them know each other (teacher, student, student) and I felt the description was not true to fact so this problem was out of my hands, decided to return. This was listed as "mint" and although the condition of the bass was very good the electronics issues were not something I wanted to mess with, (I had even talked with the bass builder, Marco himself). I spent well over $200 for shipping (I added at least 2 pounds of packing) and the seller has refused to share in the cost responsibility, although he was on the line to pack it right. Beware of this seller.
