I paid in full. Full shipping, plus extra just in case. Seller told me he'd ship in a few days; that morning, he reconfirmed this. A few hours later, he unilaterally cancelled the deal.
This item stayed on the Classifieds for a long time; I gave it a lot of thought and put a lot of time into researching it. I made my offer, we went back and forth, we agreed on a price. All seemed well.
Comms remained good up to the day he said he'd ship. I expected all was well; I'd paid, and I figured the next communication would be a tracking number. I've done dozens of deals on forums; every one of them has gone like that.
Lo and behold, from out of the blue, seller canceled the deal that afternoon. His excuse was that he didn't trust his own packing skills, after bragging about them in the deal thread. He gave me a full refund, which was fine, but I didn't want a refund: I wanted the bass he'd agreed to send me.
I don't do business like that. We had committed. Money had changed hands. Then he backed out without consultation. NOT cool.
