1st Bass

49 years playing guitar-- still not much good. :)
44 years teaching Bible. Not bad at that... co-pastoring a couple of small congregations.
35+ years welding, fabrication, teaching welding and related subjects. Pretty good at that...nationally certified as an instructor, inspector and supervisor. Changed to full time violin-family lutherie in 2020.
40+ years married to the same wonderful woman. Getting better that that all the time, with her help.
22 years building violin-family instruments. So far, two double bass, three cellos, 12 violas, 14 violins and 13 five-string fiddles. Gaining on this one, instrument by instrument.

Current Setup
Not really a player--I have been building violin-family instruments for 22 years, now, (only two double basses, so far) and learning to play a little as well. Primarily hymns, by ear.
Gigs and Ensembles
I lead music services with a 12-string guitar, and play violin/viola for personal pleasure.
Influences and Teachers
I really like listening to Gary Karr, Edgar Meyer and their ilk, but I am not a bassist-- I'd just like to be able to make instruments that sound that good. :-)
