  I still love the guts but the total package of the solid woods and the care and attention of the hands that restored them has me considering selling the hybrid.

  I played my Eastman hybrid the other day side by side with my 1930’s Craigslist Hofner (top off, the bass bar, top and back re-graduated, carbon fibre/fingerboard dress on the neck, new bridge, tailpiece and wooden endpin installed by a local luthier) and the difference is unbelievable.

  It’s great to hear that you are going great guns with the bowing and the orchestra. I too am enjoying the bowing journey with the new (to me) all solid wood bass. We can’t get together with other musicians outside of our household here but I am looking to get some video recording projects going to fill the void.
