played classical trumpet at an early age to gain musical foundation, included bass guitar at age 15. Was playing gigs by 16. Joined first road band at 22 (hotel/motel club band) played six nights a week, three years. I truly learned to play well during that phase. I later joined a Kansas City based touring/road band, with some reginal success with own music. Joined another touring band signed on a minor Geffen label, toured to support a long ago forgotten album.
Worked in recording studios as a session musician, later went another direction in a career field and put music up for a period of time.
I later came back to scene, worked as a hired gun for a few national acts, toured over two years, playing approximately 700 shows with a male country artist.
I am retired from the road now, but have a very good Joan Jett tribute band, and a groove metal original group slowly gaining traction in the Midwest. I have a regular job to keep me busy, and I get to sleep in my own bed nightly instead of a hotel room.
I'm as excited and as consumed by music today as I was at 15. It's the one thing that has always been in my life.
