Nice. Been considering one of these. The bands “only” go down to 70 hz, but the power of the b/c and the layout looks great. I’m also very intrigued by the “subtract “ switch. This looks like it could be a great on the fly “room fixer” if you can get used to the controls, and a powerful effect for the studio. Not in my budget right now, so I’m demanding a detailed review when you get it!ordered a redux. We’ll see
That subtract feature is very intriguing- I envision that doing some cool fixed filter sounds for something like a Rhodes piano. I do wish the pedal had a master volume though to balance output for more extreme settings!I received the redux eq last night. It is excellent. First off, weather it is switched in or out there is zero effect on your natural bass tone. That’s an issue I’ve had with so many devices in the past. I wanted this unit to make a very narrow cut to remove clack when playing aggressively without removing the top end clarity. It did that. I wanted a moderately narrow band to cut boominess in a room without gutting the bottom end. It did that too. The middle band is an extra bonus. It’s a keeper. The subtract function works well for finding those frequencies. When engaged the boosted frequency is the only one you hear so, you can use this live to find those frequencies quicker without annoying the audience with the full volume of your rig. Tonight I hope to use it on my acoustic guitar for similar uses. I 100% recommend this eq to anyone who knows how to use a fully parametric eq.
I do wish it had a master volume for sure. But, it works so well and doesn’t tone suck so, I’ll live with it.That subtract feature is very intriguing- I envision that doing some cool fixed filter sounds for something like a Rhodes piano. I am bummed to hear the newer Empress PEQs are still on the subtle end as you say- I found that with the original Empress ParaEQ w/ Boost over a dozen years back and had hoped the new version would have improved that…
I got this one a few days ago and for room correction, it's perfect. No noise. No tone difference when things are set flat. It's built solid -- much better than I expected for the price.Ibanez PTEQ Pentatone EQ Pedal

Quite affordable for what it is too.
Nothing beats the Source Audio EQ2 though, absolutely most feature rich and flexible EQ on the market in pedal form, but if one insists on having an analog EQ I have a hard time seeing anything better or cheaper on the market than the above Ibanez.
What is the redux?I also have and love the whirlwind 10 band bass specific eq. No tone suck and the chosen eq points are perfect for bass. Better than the standard version. It’s very large but, that’s ok because it’s a real world useful tool, not a toy. It’s more intuitive than the redux and quicker to adjust at a gig. Both are great.
Cool! What brand, where is it available?redux is a high quality fully parametric eq pedal with a unique option to only pass the frequency range you are adjusting.

Looks nice. Is it quantifiably or empirically better than the Empress and other such pedals? It’s the Redux electric metric pedal.
I wanted an eq pedal that doesn’t affect tone when switched off. I seem to notice tone suck more than most players. The redux has a powerful effect where, I remember the empress sounding as if the eq was in parallel with my dry sound and not having as deep an impact on my sound, no matter what my frequency measurements said. The redux and whirlwind make a difference when you turn a knob. I do prefer the easier/faster adjustment of the bass10 but, the redux can do things the whirlwind can’t, and it’s a lot smaller. That’s why I own them both.Looks nice. Is it quantifiably or empirically better than the Empress and other such pedals?
I’ve considered the Whirlwind, but space is a premium on my pedalboard.
