I've been eyeing a Tokai Hardpuncher bass but I would like to find out the year and model.
I don't know if it is original but the seller said he bought it in 1982 and used it for a few years. No mention of any changes or upgrades.
It has a small logo Hard Puncher under the Tokai logo which I believe points to a certain year model, in this case either a 1960 or 1964. Is that correct?
The serial number on the backplate is L+5 digits, first one starting with 0. What year does that indicate? 1980?
I noticed it has a spiral bridge while most lower models don't seem to have these. The side dots are white and not black and under the rosewood like on most Hard Puncher models. Finally, the tuners are 4 screw, but I'll check when I get it if there are 3 screw holes. From the neck sticker, it seems to be a TPB50. Right?
