After 10 years of waiting, It's on!!! The Alembic FL-105

I have been waiting for 10 years of finding a pedal version of the Alembic SF-2 rackmount. Lately I have been coming across some very compelling
pieces of gear that are very similar. One Mutron just released a pedal called the Super-Freq which is a two channel band pass filter and I was thinking
about purchasing that until on the Broughton page, their State Variable Filter pedal. Now I was thinking of waiting until Josh built some and buying two
for using two independent filters. Also there is now a pedal called the Osiris Philter modeled of of Phil Lesch's Mission Control bass Then I saw this this morning on my coffee break. Alembic is putting out a pedal based of the the SF-2 based on the rackmount version with two extra filter versions. I don't think Alembic has released them yet
and since it is Alembic, they are not cheap though I feel like Ralphie when he came across that Red Ryder BB gun in that movie "A Christmas Story". Anyway, here are the links and picks. I hope Santa is kind this year and I will try to be good.

The Good News: Two additional filter types!
The Bad News: but only one filter (the SF-2 offers two completely independent filters, which can be used in parallel or patched in series)

Cost of Entry is certainly steep, but it's less than half the price of an SF-2, so... :shrugs:
They definitely have my attention.

:::kicks self for selling off his SF-2 last year:::

The Super filter (even in this single channel format) is an amazing tone modifier, and for most it's a learning curve. It's simply a completely different approach to tone and frequency control over conventional graphics or paras, and like all things Alembic, I'd expect it's surgically clean.

The closest thing I can like it to would be the old cut-only equalizers where you reveal the frequencies you like by eliminating those you don't. It's more complex than that, but that's a way to think of this until you spend time with one.

Oh, it's a learning curve for sure. It still takes me to school....
