Anyone interested in the new GROOVE amp?
Being revealed in a couple of days I think.
OK 2 things I didn't notice at first:
  1. It's an hybrid amp, with a 12AX7 tube preamp
  2. There will be 2 versions:
    • 800W - 1 125,00 €
    • 1200W - 1 379,00 €
Interesting…

Nice brush metal design
It has all the nice features of the "One" amps, plus the "drive" and "mid scoop" switches

You sure about using that stand? Seems inhibitating...nice playing though 👍🏻🎶
Yep, I'm sure. I got it when I had 3 vertebrae fused in my neck. I thought I'd only use it while I was recovering, but I never wanted to go back.
The weight of any bass is now a complete non-issue. I like that.
Of course, I don't get the call to do gigs where I do motown-review dancing while playing.
But then, I never got called to do those gigs anyway :smug:

I'm glad that you're still able to 'bring it'! 😍

I'm super happy, because I didn't know how the "fusion of science and emotion" would sound… Now I know :roflmao:

I know Youtube videos don't mean much, but I'm dissapointed by the sound of the video, there's nothing really great about it.
I much prefer the sound of my Jad Freer Sisma and even the Quilter Bass Block v803 without tubes.

The only merit of this video is its self-derision humour in using the highest possible density of marketing BS keyword… Or at least I hope it's humour.

To finish on a more positive note, I really like the sleek brush metal finish, I'm sure the controls are super effective, and I hope the sound in real life will be more impressive than what we hear in the video.

It’s a cool hype video, it’ll land with some folks. Why so critical of their marketing approach? It’s not a sound demo/review video.
OK, I admit it's personal, I hate this style of text (a collection of meaningless superlatives) and the voice, which sounds like a blockbuster trailer.
Maybe it's partly due to a cultural differences between Europe and the USA (although GR Bass is an Italian brand, I suppose this add is targeted at the US market).

But I love the GR Bass brand, as well as their products, and their customer support is excellent. It's the same with Apple for example I also love the brand and hate their marketing for the same reasons.

Sorry for my critical comment, in the future I'll remember that there are people who like it.

The Groove Amp 800 is now available from Thomann.

$969 is a fair price IMHO for a full featured hybrid 800W amp

I am considering this option as well.
Have you heard a fan kick in when it gets warm?
I guess it is a version of the GR One amp that is the power amp and this amp has a fan. As an option for acoustic music it would be nice if you could turn a fan off.

My GR 350 and Dual 1400 both have a studio "no fan" mode by holding the LED button for 8 seconds or something. If you get it hot enough, it will override and come on anyway. My 1400 cycles always, even if i am not playing at all. I didn't like this amp really. My Mesa 800+ and WD-800 are quiet, simple to dial in and 2 ohm! Here's my GR complaints: The tuner is worthless, ridiculously slow to respond and all the LED choices are not needed for anything but to look cool or induce a seizure. The EQ has micro slide switches under the knobs, get your flashlight out and a pair of readers for us old guys. The EQ on my 1983 GK400rb makes more sense, or an Eden. The optional footswitch a strange beast too. I did find my sound but it took a week. I thought it would be stereo having 2 pre channels and 2 700 watt power amps but it's not. Both preamps feed both power amps. After almost returning it twice I finally sorted it all out and it is a really strong amp. GR should clean up that silly eq, lose those LEDS, and stuff a Korg tuner in it while you're at it. IMHO [:

Hi @bipper ! In that pic is that a 210V, a 112H, and a 212?!
If so, would you be able to compare the differences between the cabs please? Especially interested in 112H. I've been gigging a 210V and a Pure Amp 800 solidly for a year, but have been considering a 112H to make life easier carrying gear on public transport for quick in and out quieter gigs/rehearsals.
Thank you!!
Hi. sorry i missed this q. The 112H is a really amazingly good cab within reasonable volumes of course. Its the last one i bought and wish it was the first. for a single channel rig i would have just bought two 8 ohm 112H cabs and call it a day. I think that would cover most anything.
The other cabs, i will just say i prefer front ported cabs like the 210. The rear ported 212 slim ...i wish it was a wide 212. The 110 is a 110, good for its size or an addition to your other cabs.
