Seeking opinions from Talkbass family. I'm about to do a complete clean up. On my Tobias Killer B 5string. Cleaning, waxing and buffing, Polishing Fret's, oiling the bass neck fretboard as well. Even changing tuner's to Hipshot. I'm gonna be doing a little every other day. Question is! How long can I possibly leave my bass unstrung until I can finish everything 🤔 My case is a mint conditioned plush hardshell case and my studio is climate controlled. So is this a big issue leaving the bass un strung for say 2 days?🎸

2 days isn’t any concern. However if you leave the strings off for too long the truss may need a small adjustment when you restring because the neck could respond to less tension.

But think of it this way, some of those manufactured necks sit in a factory for months before they are installed and strung. I’d store with strings tuned but I wouldn’t sweat leaving them off for a few days.

i think the OP said he's gonna work on the bass every two days. i get the impression it will be multiple sessions every 2 days - several weeks, maybe?
