The Radial JDI passive direct box is the Jensen transformer version of Radial's single-channel DI. The passive design helps to eliminate 60-cycle ground loops, and is a good match for active basses.

I use this DI for recording basses with 18-volt active electronics. The Jensen transformer is a noticeable feature in recording situations. It also works great for keys.

The enclosure design provides plenty of protection around switches and connectors, and it's I-beam box keeps inner electronics safe. A rubber pad on the bottom keeps the J48 from slipping on top of an amplifier, and also gives some extra shock resistance. Overall, it has the quality, features, and durability one expects from Radial at this price point.
