  • Great for the player that requires a smaller, more comfortable bass
  • This bass has a 30" scale length - that's 4 inches shorter than a normal size bass, making it an excellent starter bass for a young beginner
  • It also makes a perfect low cost travel bass
  • This bass guitar features a solid American alder body (not plywood) and a beautiful maple neck and 20 frets which helps deliver excellent tone and sustain
  • The design of the neck and adjustable bridge provide excellent action, making the bass very easy to play
  • Other features include truss-rod adjustable neck, passive pickups, fully adjustable bridge and non-locking tuners
  • The bass has a three ply white pick-guard
  • Free padded carry bag included

Pros
  • Cheap
  • Short
  • no worries about destroying resale value with mods
Cons
  • needs adjustments and upgrades
I got one of the last few from Rondo since the announcement that they won't carry SX anymore. If you can find one, it won't come from them!

I got it on sale for $200, so the problems I see are expected:

1. the nut is too high.
2. The neck dives and will need lighter tuners.
3. Even with high stock action, the G string buzzes. Again, fretwork is expected at this price.

The neck looks nice and straight, and the overall look is nice, though the reduced body size probably looks odd to some. I haven't even plugged it in yet as I intend to replace the pickups and completely re-do the electronics.

I got it with the intention of modding, so I'm not bothered by the expected shortcomings of an instrument in this price range.
