Pre-Ernie Ball vintage 1977 Music Man Sting Ray in mocha finish that is in excellent condition. Comes with original case and recently cleaned up/fret polished/and set up. I have put in an aged white pickup cover but of course have the original black one as well that I can put back on if desired...
Here’s your chance to own a piece of electric bass history. This is a 1977 Carl Thompson 4 string bass with a serial number/birthdate of 1-4-1977. It is in remarkable shape for being 47 years old, only having some light wear marks from playing over the years. The neck is straight, frets are in...

Well after posting about waiting for this to arrive in the 2023 Christmas presents thread, it arrived! Had it in Buyee's storage warehouse for a couple of weeks before getting it the 22nd and opening it right on Christmas!
For context here's the original buyee listing, but this google doc has...
This is a 1977 Jetglo Rickenbacker in fabulous condition. The serial number is QI for September 1977. The neck on this bass is special as it is very thin and feels great to play. The pots are coded 137 7639 so they date to late 1976. The width at the nut is 1.66" and the weight is right at...

Up for sale is this, beautiful, 1977 - 78, Vintage, Fender Jazz Bass Body. It has been refinished, and was that way when I got it. Not sure of the actual color. It looks like a light, Lake Placid Blue, but it has a hint of green. It is not close to being Fender's Aqua Marine.

This 1977 Fender American Precision Bass body is Used and in Good Condition. The previous owner had the body refinished; it's not a pro job and definitely has some wear and tear after normal use. From the blue paint in the neck pocket, it's possible that this body was previously Lake Placid...

I bought this bass in 1983 and used it approximately one year to accompany a Children's Choir; it has not been played significantly since. At the time of purchase, I intentionally sought out a used Fender Jazz Bass; when in High School (mid-70s) I appreciated the tone quality heard from those...

New old bass day, I should say!
I posted my 2008 American Deluxe Jazz 5 up for trade in here and had no real interests. I decided to try Facebook Market last Wednesday and was overwhelmed with trade offers. I ended up settling on this one. Best I can tell by comparing the serial number with...
Hi there!
I own a 1977 Fender Jazz Bass. As far as I know the serial number contains a S (for seventies) with a number (S8 in this case) and then 5 digits. But mine got 6. Can someone tell me why?
Check out the photo..
It pains me to do it, but I need a good 5 string for a project. I really love both basses. They each have their own sound, and I love em’ equally... Free cash is in short supply though, so I’m looking to deal on one of these beauties. I can’t decide which one to offer up, so I’ll offer up both...

Call it Walnut, call it Mocha, call it Trans Midnight Red...whatever you call it, it's absolutely gorgeous in person.
I don't want to sell this bass. It was my first real bass. So many memories, so much resonance with the ash body, original chunky P neck and Badass I bridge. I hardly play it...

Hey everyone,
I have a 1978 (or 1977?) Fender Musicmaster and I need to replace the tuning machines on it. Anyone have any recommendations of ones that fit the best that also won't break the bank too bad? Thanks!
