Hello hello! I just picked up a Cirrus BXP the other day and wanted to see if anyone could help me gather some more information on it. The seller wasn't the original either, but he said it was manufactured around 2004. It's in really solid condition and appears to have been well taken care of. I...
Admission - I know next to nothing about pickups and the electronics associated with them, but have done a LOT of soldering, amp and speaker repair, etc., and have a nodding acquaintance with schematics, DMM, oscilloscopes, etc.
Ok.. the questions re/ the bass in the thread title, new to me as...
I just picked up one of these for $55. No output so it sold as parts.
Had broken wire at output jack, easy fix.
Was filthy, needed a good cleaning.
No serial number. Any help on when or where it was made?
And what is special about this model?
FYI, I also have a Milestone II. It was my first...
Great playing and sounding 5 string bass. Neck through construction. String through bridge and body. Mahogany and Maple. Great sustain. 35” scale. Very light for a 5er. Great passive humbuckers. Has it’s share of nicks and bumps, but nothing too serious or in your face. The worst of it is...

Once again I've purchased a Sixer, find out I can't stand 'em, and now it's for sale/trade.
I'd actually rather trade this for a 4-string of similar value.
It plays good. New D'Addario strings, great action. I'm thinking it's from about 2010 or so. A few dings in the body, but in really good...

this has been at least 4 mos in the making towards a foreign-made bass nobody else wanted but me, and I really wanted it, but couldn't overcome the myriad logistics even with a plea to the tb community in the St. Louis region to be my middle man. meanwhile, the bass sat online looking good but...
See post below for more pics.
Beautiful playing and gorgeous looking butterscotch blonde bass. I searched for this for over a year but have not bonded with it. It has a lot of sustain which makes it more suited for rocking out or fitting in the Rickenbacker realm whereas I was looking for the...

For sale is a Peavey Cirrus BXP 4 string. Sounds great, neck is nice and straight with minimal fret wear.
Some things to note:
Not sure of the year as the sticker on the back of the head stock has been removed.
Typical buckle rash on the back and some scuffing on the front but other than...

Decent bass in general for just doing a few fill in gigs ? Would Fender style Jazz pickups fit if a person wanted to change in the future, or any upgradable tuners available ? your thoughts in general on these bass,s , Thanks .
Wiring trouble. I'm missing the condenser. Best place to shop? Wiring diagram would be nice. Searched but they all want money for it. Honestly, I've played for about 6 years but never did my own work on my basses. I really haven't had much trouble except w this bass but it sounds so good...

I've been checking used GC every other day for a while and I grabbed this one for $269! What a steal!
It's got an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp already installed in it, but the GC posting only said "Aftermarket preamp". When I tried it at the store, I was annoyed because I couldn't tell what the...
Hey forum! I haven't been here in a long time, but I must call upon the collective of great minds known as talkbass.
Our guitarist was talking about dumping two grand on a custom guitar made just the way he wants it, I told him to go for it, it's his money, but it got my gears turning. So...
Solid bass that i got in a trade. Doesn't really suit me, so it's up for grabs.
This is the model that is made in indonesia, but has the upgraded electronics package. Two hum cancelling pickups and an 18v 3 band preamp. The top is a laminate (read: very thin) quilted maple and it has a...

Hello,
I've been looking at some used 5 string basses online and stumbled across these two which caught my eye. I was wondering if anybody had any opinions, thoughts or preferences between these basses. Here is info about each one (Canadian pricing, both come with hard shell cases):
PEAVEY...

My favorite store has got the new Cirrus. My initial verdict is that the wood work, fret work, and tone are all there. The mid and treble pots were sticky, or not put on properly. This made them hard to work. IMO, this is minor, but it is the sort of thing that makes a bad impression. Peavey...
I've looked everywhere for the full specs, measurements and replacement options for these passive pickups. They measure a little smaller than Fender and I haven't found a site that says their gear "is a replacement for" Peavey pickups. Here is what Peavey provides:
Construction: Single coil...
I've just acquired a peavey millenium ac bxp bass bass (imported version) with the active vfl humbuckers pickups and cirrus preamp. It has volume, pickup blend, treble, mid, and bass knobs. I want to upgrade the preamp with the millenium usa preamp. Will that preamp work with the current pickups...
Both of these items popped up on my local Craigslist for a responsible price. I might not have amble time to try out either of these before buying to really make a strong comparison. For owners/player of either, what are some characteristics of these basses I should know?
Hi all,
Does anyone know what the non-peavey part number is for the tuners on a Cirrux BXP 4-string? My D-string tuner appears to have broken internally. It looks like the peg is 3/8ths and the mounting hole is 9/16ths. I believe a Gotoh GB7 tuner should fit.
Edit: I noticed the tuner rattling...
Hey Folks,
My dad has been playing a USA Cirrus 4 string for a few years now and he wanted to try a 5 string. He found a Cirrus BXP 5 for $300 at a local Pawn shop It's the version with the fancy quilted top. He liked the way it sounded and felt, got them to knock another $20 off and took...
Does anyone have this bass with the Bubinga top and what is the retail price on them? I've looked here on the net but they say they no longer sell them and I can't find a price on them either.

This bass was already one of the nicest basses I've ever played, but now with new Bartolini's, Gotoh Tuners, Gotoh high mass bridge, gold knobs and some repairs to the finish, this $200 (Canadian) second hand beater is sooooo nice. I love the punchy Jaco-like Jazz growl and the amazingly thin...
This bass isn't a sunburst, so I kinda find the look of it to be dull. So I thought I'd get a custom control cover made for it. In the meantiume I'm waiting for a gold replacement bridge to show up.
Where can I get the control cover made?
