    Help with having a bass autographed?

    Going to see my favorite band in september. Id like to have them autograph one of my basses. The problem is im worried that the finish on my bass might not hold the ink? So i guess my question is has anyone had a bass autographed and what type of marker should i use that wont eventually smudge...
