finishes

There's just something sleek and futuristic about a bass in a single, solid color, with black hardware and no pickguard. To me, there's always been an aesthetic difference between "guitar as furniture" - hence the rise of coffee table basses with exotic wood sandwiches and transparent finishes...

We can see more and more satin finishes in recent years, probably because they cost less to produce. But the question is: do you like them?

i know i made a ruckus recently regarding telecaster bass necks, but sunburst finish jazz basses have been staring me in the eyes and i can’t get enough of em. particularly with the pickup covers. i see allparts has sunburst finish jazz bass bodies... how’s the look with them? i would love love...

i mean that’s the point of a finish right? tell me the best oil to use when finishing wood to get both a cool natural look (maybe a hint of shine) and also be able to protect my bass from the elements, whatever they may be.
