    The title is the question. I have read that you can swap out the mediocre Sino-Staple pickups that come in the cheap Hofners with mini-humbucker guitar pickups. The dimensions seem to be compatible and I know of people putting in Duncan Mini-HBs. Rumors are Firebird pickups will work as well...
