I HATE the loud clicking of s footswitch on my pedalboard. I have tried to keep my pedalboard free of anything that clicks when I step on it! Does anyone else feel the same and hate the click? Let's discuss it!
I know on my board I have these clickless pedals:
JohnK pedals (Various Fuzz & OD)...
Went through my stuff and put together a list of some things I'd part with and some things that I'd be interested in checking out. At this point, I'm only interested in talking trades...no sales.

I’m up to 3 separate listings and then take downs for my P bass, and I think all three lasted only one or two days each. I’ve done this 2-3 other times for different gear, and it’s usually the product of indecision: I think I want to fund or trade something else, but the reality of making it...
Just curious how you guys are handling your band's selection of songs.
We have a primary bandleader who created the project and focused us on our old R&B genre. He had a bunch of song ideas and we cut that down sharply, tossing any song that just didn't swing for us, or needed too much work to...
This is pretty interesting, came across this translated list, which was originally released in Russian with the caption, "We recommend using these findings to more strongly control what happens in discotheques."
Particularly interesting to me is Julio Iglesias being banned for "neo facisim"...

Not the jazz type.
We all learn throughout our careers, right? Well I was playing a few gigs with a genuine Blues
guitarist, vocalist and funny man on the mic... Stoney B Blues
I like this guy.. and I know a ton of stuff that never entered his mind, however, he criticizes his bass players...
Yeah, so bass lines that are neither just a supporting part, nor a solo, nor just an intro. Where the bass is the main riff: The part that people remember the whole song by at 1st thought (or if not 1st, then at least equally with the singing or guitar parts). Any style: rock, jazz, classical...
Looking for some set list advice for a wedding dance gig.
Setup is this: we’re mainly a blues band (BB King, Clapton, Hendrix, Gary Moore etc) but have been asked to do a wedding for a family member’s niece. Most of us have done weddings before but never in this band.
The bride’s brief was...
There are no famous bass players I don't get. I don't get why there are threads bashing Verdine White and Steve Harris, or any other famous bass player on a forum called Talk Bass. These players elevated bass guitar to make the general public aware of the instrument, and thus, deserve their...
As a lead guitar player I didn't know of all the small light weight bass heads out there until recently , but are there a lot of good cabs with a 12 in the 20 to under 30 pound range ? 200 250 watts would probably do for small club fill ins on bass I do , no PA support needed , but would...
Planning to order from Broughton? post here. Open to exchange? Yep.
Once you receive it or trade it, please delete your post.
@Azure Skies Building to order is orderly for the orderee, the orderer and the ordered

These are all the drives I would potentially be interested in trying at my local guitar shop for guitar (took a pic to see what they had and after some research, these seem to be the intriguing ones). Looking for a 70s medium overdrive getting into distortion territory. Was using an older Boss...
Just curious to know how people might approach this.
My band is working up 6 new covers for our next gig. (Titles below if your are curious.)
We are taking one break about 1.5 hours (about 18-20 songs in) into a 4 hour set (about 56 - 60 songs). (We have been playing with no break last 2...
This may be reposted, but I thought it kinda interesting. I think there are things here that are wisdom, other things that are kinda true. Some things in here I wish I had known about 30 years ago when I was starting out and I could've avoided a lot of unpleasantness, frustration, and lousy...
Those that allow one to control certain things via playing dynamics. Envelope filters are the first that come to mind and the only other one I am aware of is the Shallow water where the envelope can also be set to control something..
What else is out there?
Thanks!
Just for fun. Let's make a list of period wrong details on Fender reissue basses.
I focus on details they could have done correctly. For example: it makes sense that a 600,- instrument doesn't have a nitro finish, or that budget japanese instruments back then had other pickups and potis. Or...
Greetings, everyone! I just got my first big boy bass. It's a Rickenbacker 4003. Chicago Music Exchange had like 5 units of this AMAZING color. I wanted a 4003 for years, but they never had a color for me. I'm partial to very candy colored non-metallic solids. I feel I am underserved in this...
I'm already aware of F-Bass, who else makes them?
I find myself in one of those annoying predicaments where 34" scale basses all feel a bit too loose and floppy, and while I very much prefer the tightness of a 35" scale, the frets are just a hair too wide to be truly comfortable for my average...
So, in my normal perusing of bass guitars on the internet (a daily occurrence), I came across this:
The 10 Most Important Electric Basses in Rock & Roll History
I was curious if the bass playing community saw any glaring omissions?
If this is the wrong forum, please let me know.
Admission: I'm a bass hoarder. By the time that my newest bass is liberated and in the trunk on it's way home I'm already scouring Kijiji (much improved Canadian version of Craigs List) for my next acquisition.
In the last eight years I have purchased way more than 125 basses (and multiple amps...
I like most people here like collecting basses. I had this idea while reading stories of "working bassists" in high school that most professionals had an arsenal of basses. They would say things like "sometimes I'm hearing a P bass sound on this record, sometimes an active jazz 5 string...
2017 was a year I really tried to focus on what I needed instead of going after everything I thought that I wanted. I bought a few items that really upgraded my tone. I can’t seem to stop crafting/ changing things to try to make the rig/tone better.
Here are several things I’m thinking about...
I had set up a trade with a fellow of a 1977 Mesa Boogie Mark I combo I own for a 2008 Rickenbacker 4003. So the guy sends me a bunch of pics and the bass looks immaculate. I had sent him pics of the amp which is indeed mint, like show room mint. The guy lives about 3.5 hours from me so we agreed...
Today was a great day. Drove 1.5 hours to King of Prussia, PA today for a bass clinic with Victor Wooten. Talking to him, he wanted to see my home built bass and played it for a few minutes. He is the one who inspired me to take up the bass.
Glad I got to meet him today, even with the 4 hour...
Now I know these lists has been done to dead countless times before, still, when using the search function, I can't seem to find any lists with this particular twist.
Just saw this video on YouTube from Scott's Bass Lessons about his personal Top 10 influential bass players:
So I made my own...
1. The Carl Thompson 4 string Ebony
Mostly his signature , he used this during his 1989 appearnce on KZSU:\
2.The Carl Thompson six string

What's on your wish list for the holidays?
My family recently asked if there was anything I wanted for Christmas.
I couldn't think of enough stuff that isn't priced in the stratosphere, so I wanted to see what you all might have on your lists this year?
(P.S. If a bass is on your list, by...

3.5
1: Bass
2: Acoustic Guitar and just recently started to work on slide
3: Harmonica and I stink but trying not to let it bother me.
.5: Piano - I barely do it and when I do I start putzing with either beginner book or learn the Michael Meyers theme song and then don't do it for awhile.
