Alright guys I played the show and oh man it was great lol. The first thing I want to mention is the sound guy. He was amazing! Put me through the PA system without me even asking, dialed every one in perfectly, he was on top of everything! A true professional.
Was super nervous of course but...
I’ve been looking at some sign options for my band. Mostly they seem to all vinyl, and go behind/ above drummer or scrims on the sides. I’ve been thinking has anyone used a lighted option? Like an LED style sign for dark rooms, particularly if they can display band and/or logo would be cool...
A simple poll, to see how often our membership gets out to see live music in their area. (Please do not include shows that you were on the bill for!)
In my part of the world, there’s a whole lotta great stuff happening. I’m currently watching and dancing to a Brazilian group. Yesterday, I saw...
Hey guys,
This new venue that I'll be playing at in Yokohama finally got sound equipment for our live event this Sunday. We'll have 2 guitarists, 1 bass, and a vocalist through those speakers. The owner doesn't know anything about music or sound equipment so he can't help me with that. I'm...
Our two man band uses the bass for both guitar and bass "sounds." I'm continuing to dial in a unique sound and figured some of you might have input on some basses to try....
I have a repainted Fender Squire Jazz (in video), a Fender Precision Deluxe Special and a Fender Mustang short scale...
Running a line from a 50w rogue amp (line out) into a cab, my band plays hard rock/metal (not death metal or anything) but my amp is not loud enough because of the guitars (typical bass problem) overdrive helps but i need a cab for sure. What should i be getting ? I'll take any opinions into...
Just uploaded a video of an original song my band played at our singer’s wedding. Helped with the quarantine blues a little bit. Can’t wait to get back out there.
Oh and for the Bass Tax. It’s a Tele-inspired split P Warmoth build with Geezers. I used a floor wax for the finish. I love it...
So most of the places I play have horrible setups and I can barely hear myself but from what I DO hear I always think it kinda sucks and gets lost in the mix.
I should start by saying the tone I'd like to go for is Nick O'Mally's Of Arctic Monkeys. Or the bassist of the Orwells if you know...
When you play live with PA support for bass and drums, how do you and your bandmates set up amplifiers on stage?
Does everyone orient their amps forward, towards the audience?
Does anyone do a "side fill" setup where you point your amp across the stage? Do your guitarists do the same thing...
Anyone use drum triggers live with there band?
We just did some recordings and the drums triggered sound so much bigger and cleaner than acoustic drums. I see Roland now makes a trigger that has a built in mic and sends two outputs a mic and a trigger. I was thinking of adding this to our...
Say, you guys! Simply sharing an opinion and my own personal viewpoint on how I approach monitor mixes (more so 'in-ear' mixes, but wedge, as well...
TLDR: ***IMHO***, the band is best served when every musician hears each other.
Long(er) version: Like everything, it's ALL personal preference...
Hi all, this is my first post here on TB, I’ve recently started a new band project with a friend of mine who produces electronic music and we’re interested in playing live. I’ve played live before in a completely organic rock setting with no synths, however this current project relies heavily...
Hey y'all,
I'm just starting to gig a bit more--mostly playing shows around my college at frats and sororities--and am responsible for a lot of the audio set-up. My band generally rents a lot of gear (paid for by the frat usually), including mains, monitors, and a mixer.
I go DI out of my bass...
Hello Talk Bass, I have been experimenting with OBS, and learing how to run it and a live stream over the past few months.
I set everything up last night at practice and streamed our set,
here is a couple clips from...
