Up for sale is my Fender Jazz Elite V. As you know, Fender no longer makes ash bodied basses. This one also comes in the hard to find Tobacco Sunburst. It has been modified by Brian Barrett of the Low End Bass Shop in Nashville to include his 2/3 Band Preamp. It also has Aguilar single coils and...

Marry Xmas everyone!
I am the bass player on this track, and have been listening myself blind if its good or not.
My question is, is the bass mixed well? On spotify, I almost can't hear the bass due to all the compression I think. I play a Dunable Yeti PJ bass, with a Matamp GT200 into a...
I am using an OBNE Signal Blender as a hub for two effects loops and a clean signal. Very happy with the pedal. But..
Because of Covid we have not really rehearsed since before I got the Signal Blender (no gigs), so I have been using my board at home through a headphone setup with a pair of AKG...
Hi folks, I am in the market for a new bass amp and unfortunately can't try much where I'm at. What I want is a fairly clean amp capable of some warmth, lots of slam, with a modern tight bass response, good built in compressor is a plus, though not neccessary. I currently use a TC RH450 and I...
Have my eye on another LEJ so this one needs to go. It’s pretty good condition, however there are some dings in the back. The dings aren’t really noticeable from far away though because the finish isn’t missing. I circled it in the picture below. The action is nice and low and this neck is...

Looking for a bass in the J or P style. Can anyone give the pros and cons of these brands? I am looking for used models under $1500, and would love more insight into fit, finish, playability, etc.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to play all of them beforehand, but I might be able to get my...
Sorry if this belongs in a different forum, like accessories or something. It’s about in ear monitors.
I have been researching and wanting to invest in a nice setup for awhile, but every thread I’ve found here is, “best on a budget,” or, “as cheap as humanly possible,” or, “for around $200.” My...
Hello TB.
I am going to look at (and possibly buy) this bass this week. Do any of you have a Low End bass? I'd love to hear about your experience with their instruments:
Thanks
Hey y'all,
Recently got this in a trade. It funtions, basically, but has some issues.
Obnoxious open ground type hum, only works in active mode, mute switch does nothing.
Full of tubey goodness for both bass and guitar, but can't find out much about these.
Does anyone know common problems or...

Hello,
I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with my Bass. I have A/B'd it with my other modulus through the same amp and all I can describe it as is a serious lack of low end. The signal sounds quite thin in comparison to the other Q5. The other Q5 has bartolini pickups but they sounded...
Hello,
I recently bought my first non-combo bass rig. I bought it off of Kijiji nearly 8 months ago and gig around 2 per month. I’ve only been using a standard guitar/bass patch cord rather than a speaker cable to connect the rig. I’ve noticed recently that my low end isnt putting out enough...
I just purchased an Ashdown EVO III head that sounds great. I'm new to the head/cab world and need advice on the best cabinet to buy for solid lows and clear mids/highs. I've been thinking a 1x15 and perhaps other 2x10 or 2x12 to go with if necessary but have to start with one first. In the...
I have a ProCo Rat clone (is the Little Bear version, with vintage, dirty and turbo switch).
On guitar is amazing but on bass it sucks a lot of low end and when I use it in a pedalboard with my Green Big Muff the difference of low end is huge.
My question is:
Why I see it in a lot of...
Hi Everyone
First post for me.
I have an issue I was wondering if you guys on here have any experience with? I have wound my own Jazz bass pickups (North/counterclockwise at the neck and South/clockwise at the bridge). They sound great individually but when both opened up (I have used a blend...
I'm currently using an early 90's mesa 215 diesel cab. I have a Vintage peavy 400 and an Ampeg B2r head. I like both but will probably need more power.
Looking for a very loud low end cab. I play in a bass heavy synth punk band with no guitar. I play through a Rat pedal. The Peavey head and...
Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked numerous times before etc.
Anyway, I'm looking at getting a fretless bass and was essentially wondering what you recommend. Budget wise I'd rather not go above £300 because it's a new instrument and I'd rather have one to try out and stuff without going all...
Here's the original thread where I purchased the Preamp here on TB.
SOLD - Low End True Voice Tube Preamp and vintage tubes
Used the TV with my EUB and with my electrics - sounds awesome, but I'm more of a Mesa dork and I'm digging my Subways.
Price is shipped/insured. Payment is via PayPal...

After years of not varying from my 105's to 45's, I got some 90's to 40's. Wow, they are easy to play. But after tweaking my amp, eq, and onboard stuff, I still can't get those big lows like I can with the heavier strings. Anyone have any luck achieving this? Maybe different stings than the...
Hi there
I'm playing a MIA standard P-BASS, Daddario Chrome flatwound
--
The tone is classic P and I am really satisfied with its low-mid growl and punchy.
What I mentioned the low-mid is around 100hz-150hz. (really nice for grunge style)
However there is not much real low end freq below 80hz...
Ok so here is the current dirt situation on my board. I have a Prunes and Custard, MBD-1, MXR Bass Distortion and a EHX Green Russian.
What I have notice at band practice is the massive low end bump that the MBD-1 and Green Russian give. When I then go to my mxr, I just feels weak.
My question...
Hello all,
Here's the short and sweet version. My current rig is a Hartke 2500 into an old Hartke 4x10. I love the midrange and the highs, but my band tunes down very low, sometimes tuning the low B on my Dingwall down to a low G (The low A is our standard). The old Hartke 4x10 cannot replicate...
I have an Epiphone Thunderbird IV Pro tuned to G0 D1 G1 C1 (Drop G), with the Rotosound RS66LH+ string set (gauges 175, 135, 105, and 85).
What I'm planning on playing with it involves progressive metal, brutal death metal/slam, goregrind - that kind of stuff. Although great clarity isn't a...
Last weekend, we've been working intensively with our sound engineer to really improve our sound on stage and FOH.
Since then, I've been using two SWR Goliath III cabs for their massive, clean, dynamic tone and I would rely on them to really have my tone (along with my Mesa Titan V12).
I...
I've been experimenting (for a couple years) with overdrive pedals. I have a particular sound in my head, and buying and returning pedals has been an ongoing task throughout this time - what I hear in my head and what I get from pedals isn't the same thing, so most of them go back to the store...
Hi guys I have been playing for 25 years now and I was always used to ROCK/PUNK and METAL. I have a ltd b-304 and a Musicman Sterling Ray 34. Both are really high and mid oriented so that fits perfectly for the style.
However I have joined another project which is Indie Rock and that doesn't...
Hello all,
I'm looking to somehow really tighten up the low end on my bass when using distortion, so that they're thick and strong, but still controlled and defined.
For any who haven't seen this video, this is a perfect example:
Now, Nolly's tone is a little bit treblier than I would have...
$250 out the door.. I guess it is called Affinity, the low end. it says J bass on the head stock.
I compared it to a $2000+ Fender, after a player at Guitar Center told me some people like it better than the expensive Fender.
I have noticed there is not a lot of low end bassiness about this...
Hey. First time TalkBass user here, with a fairly specific/situational question.
I play guitar in a rock/punk/folk two-piece, and have been pretty happy with a three-amp (guitar/guitar/bass) setup for the last couple years, where I split the signal from my guitar into a guitar chain and a bass...
Hi, I'm new in the forums and recently started to play bass, I've got myself a Squier Jaguar bass short scale, it's an awesome bass and really enjoy playing it.
I've been considering modding it and I really like fat low end bass tones, so I'm looking for some advice here, I've been reading some...
Id bet this has been posted numerous times but im kinda new so im sorry :p does anybody have some tips for getting a really tight, yet powerful low end for live performances? Something that just kinda pushes your eardrums a bunch but doesnt muddy up your tone? For example, the tone in Weezers...
Well I've decided to scratch an itch that seems to hit me every single time I touch/tweak any of my gear... the itch to build (I guess assemble is a more accurate term here). The last was my take on a 58 Fender P (in my sig) and this time around, I'm going for basically a Squier PJ.
What I...
