I'm looking for a set of medium gauge flats which are low tension, meaning they don't put too much tension on the neck, and flexible, meaning they are easy on the fingers.
I'd like to stick to medium gauge (45-65-85-105) if possible or at least close to that (not more).
I read somewhere that...

As far as the two flats I'd consider...
Alright, so first, let me just say that I did do a search on this, and couldn't find anything on the topic. Maybe I'm using the wrong terms (I rarely spend time in this section of TB). Anyways...
I've recently had the D'Addario 50-105 medium gauge flats come as a very strong recommendation to...

I've used light gauge flats on all of my basses for decades - I've been playing since the mid '60s. Never liked rounds and still don't, so whenever I've gotten a new or used bass with rounds I changed them to light gauge flats before I even played them.
Recently I bought a made to order bass...
I did some searching and couldn't find anything specific for medium gauge (50-105). I just strung my new bass through body with them and they fit just find. Is there any advice against doing this long term? I mainly did it because the ferrules came off and I didn't have glue at the time.
I've been heating a lot of debate on weather Metallica's Cliff Burton uses heavy gauge or light gauge strings. I used to believe it was light because of how easily he's able to bend the strings in some of his live performances, but I've been getting a lot of responses on the ultimateguitar forum...
