    Does putting a P and H next to each other cause magnetic interferance?

    I want to put the pickups in this configuration: I'm wondering if the magnets will interfere with each other and how the sound will be altered as a result. How big of a difference is there and how much space would I need to negate the negative interferance?

    I'm thinking of upgrading the pickups on a bass soon (P/MM), but I've noticed that the P pickup has a 1.5 inch overlap between the two parts, rather than the traditional 3/4". Does this throw anything off with replacement pickups?
