can you wire a standard 500k pot as a blend knob or do you HAVE to use an MN pot?

I need a stacked pot where the top knob is a 1M audio taper and the lower knob is a blend with a center detent. If you don't know of one specifically, any links or sources for unusual pots and switches in general would be greatly appreciated, especially stacked pots.

If I put a 250k resistor in front of a 500k volume pot, would that be equivalent to having a 250k pot or would it sound or act different?

my volume pots dont go all the way to 0, there is always 10% volume... My bass has a passive Jazz style layout: 2 vol, 1 tone. tone works as intended. Is there an easy fix for it? or better ignore it? I got no tuner pedal or mute on the amp in reach btw.
