    Weird Squier Serial Number

Recently got my hands on a 2010 Squier Pete Wentz Precision, but when I looked up the serial number it came back as a 2010 Squier Mini Strat, I'm almost certain it's legitimate, and, weird thing to copy if someone were to right?, but is this a common issue? I know some Squiers come up with no...

    Dating my boss Oc-2….

Bought this used for next to nothing and upon further inspection it’s made in Japan! No serial number under foot pedal or a sticker on the back at all. And tried using the serial number decoder with the number on the pcb and it dated it to September 1982 which would have been an octaveR… is that...

Precision Bass serial number is wonky

Happy new year BassPeople! I have played a P-Bass for the past 10 years and love it. I wanted to look it up on the Fender serial number site, but it comes up as Champion amp built in 2000. Well, that's not right.... Any advice?

Trying to get my Fender P-Bass serial # verified…

Started thinking about selling my Precision, bought it in ‘79 from Leo’s Music in Berkeley, Ca. and at that time Leo himself told me it was a ‘78, and I think I paid $419 for it… Searched the serial # just now and came up empty, has anybody else had this experience? (pic attached)

Help with an Epiphone Rivoli Serial Number

I'm thinking of buying a used Epiphone Rivoli bass off craigslist however the serial number is a bit confusing. From what I can tell, the "R" at the beginning means it was made in the Peerless factory in Korea, the "94" means its a 1994 model, but then the "P" confuses me since Epiphone...

Help identifying Fender Jazz Bass serial

Hi. I have a Fender Jazz Bass with no serial on the head (back of neck sanded all the way down) - it's legit though. I knew it was a 1996 American when I got it 6 years ago, but I still wanted to know the specific model at some point, but was in no rush to do so. And then a week ago I finally...

Date Your Pedulla Bass by Serial Number

Hello, I usually lurk here and don't post anything unless something seriously annoys me, or if I have something particularly useful to contribute. As many are aware, Pedulla has now retired and is no longer making basses or offering repairs. Most of the website is no longer accessible, but...

need help with RIC serial #s

I'm researching vintage Rickenbacker basses for a possible purchase. In looking up the serial #s, it appears that the number one sometimes looks like a "1" and sometimes it looks a capital letter I. And sometimes it actually is a capital letter I. From what I have seen, it looks like at some...
