Strings through bridge (Fender Am Pro)?

I have a question specifically regarding Am Pro bridges. I have a set of flats that aren’t suited for through body use. I therefore go through the bridge. I’m hesitant, however, as to whether I’m supposed to pull the ball of the string all the way in and tuck them besides the black intonation...

    Through-Body and High-Mass Bridges

Hi! I'm looking at getting a new bass for the first time in a very long time now, and I considered putting some good money into something like a Fender. Now that the new Pro IIs are out, I'm curious, what kind of a difference do through-body and high-mass bridges make opposed to basses without...

Thoughts on thru-body vs bridge stringing on same bass

This is something borderline between this section and the hardware one. I chose to post here as I wanted to focus on the effects on the whole instrument. Yesterday, I decided to take out the original 2-saddle bridge from my MIJ 51 P and put back a higher mass 4-saddle bridge that the previous...

Chromes Through Body: Silk on Nut?

I cut these the same length as the roundwounds I took off. Can flatwounds go through the body OK? And the silk part on the E is on the nut. Bad thing? Should I remove them and thread them through the back of the bridge instead? Will it change the sound? Thanks.

TI Jazz flat users: JF344 or JF364 set for though body?

I got a fretless twin to my Carvin LB70 which is strung with TI's so I need a new set to match the strings. I bought the set on the fretted about 10 years ago so I can't remember if I used the regular 344 or super long 364 set. I think I used the standard length, but am not sure and I don't...

    Need some 5 string suggestions

I’m looking for a five string bass. What some good ones that are 34 inch scale but are thru body? The thru body is mainly for a cosmetic reason, as I love it when a bass has a string thru body. My budget can go up to $1000 and I mostly play rock/alt-rock with some heavy metal.

I want my pickups flipped and a string through body. ( Fender )

I have built my 2018 Fender deluxe active p bass special. I basically bought the body and neck from the strostphere and did the rest. I just don’t like the Stock EQ /electronics/ pickups along with a few other things. So I bought the neck and body and saved a tone of money by doing it this way...

Flatwound, low tension, through body, bright tone; need recommendations.

YES, I have read the other threads. This one is different by the combination of things I need: Flats; Low Tension; Through body installation Bright tone (as close roundwounds as possible) Slinky Cobalt Flats would be a contender, but they don't seem to be available any longer and I don't know...
