No clue how these ended up in the bottom of my gig bag since I am strictly a fingerstyle player. Maybe it’s a sign that I should learn to use a pick?
Of course, the purists will insist that I have to get a sunburst P-bass to go with them…
Here it is again, folks... the second time I've owned this sucker, and the second time I'm getting rid of it! I had a massive hankerin' to buy it back, and tragically it's been sitting in my rack gathering dust. Help find this cat a good home!

Just picked up a P bass, plays great and is suuuuper light. Looking forward to modding it out a bit, but I'm having a little trouble finding a tort guard that will fit. It's a MIK "Fender Squier Series" with a VN3 serial prefix. If anyone knows a retailer or builder or even their uncle JimBob...

Well some unexpected expenses (car repair and water-in-the-basement issue) force me to unload some recent semi-frivolous purchases. And of course, I put money into them, lol. I don't really play fretless, so fretless is generally the first to go.

Hello everyone,
I have this tortoise shell P pickguard that I just pulled off a bass I bought here on TB. I'm not 100% sure of it's origin, I believed it to be a Spitfire pickguard when I was sold the bass and from the way it is aged and made it very well could be it just doesn't have the...

For sale is a really unique and awesome bass. Mike Cornwall, Blake Mills' old tech, put this together for me. It's a 1974 Univox P bass which has had the pickups swapped for Novak Bi-Sonics. This is an awesome bass with a variety of tones. It's really well set up, plays great...I just have too...

I've seen conflicting info about this online, and would like to hear from people with direct experience:
Would a pickguard from Fender USA be compatible with a P-bass from Fender Japan?
I'm specifically considering a Pure Vintage '63 guard, but am not opposed to third-party manufacturers...
I'm on the fence about letting this go but I figured I'd put it up at least as a feeler. I acquired this in a trade several months back. It's a LOUD P-Bass - as loud or louder than my active basses. A total rock machine - you'll never NOT be heard. Those MFD pickups are the real freakin' deal...

I have a gorgeous 2023 LPB 4 string passive P bass on layaway and one of the first mods I'd like to do is swap out the pickguard. The pickguard it comes with is a three layer plain white (WBW) guard. It looks ok but to me, it is "just" ok and I'd like to put a white or black pearl or maybe...

Well, I just acquried this absolute beauty from one of the coolest dudes on Talkbass - Mr. @Jimmy Hubbard. And while it's amazing in every way, I do kind of miss my Drake (which got traded away but is back up for sale.) So I'm experiencing simultaneous seller's (trader's) remorse along with...

Hello,
I’ve GAS’d for a lot of basses in my time playing, as I’m sure you have. I’ve gas’d for and owned Precisions, Jazzes, Stingrays, and so on. The one bass I’ve always wanted is a 1969-1973 Fender Precision, sunburst, rosewood board, and tort. Played on a lot of my favorite records, Budgie...

I seem like one of the few who lack a strong feeling for or against tortoise shell (or cilantro, for that matter); but clearly, tort has some rabid advocates. I knew of tort pickguards of course; I have seen tort knobs, switch tips, and even tuning keys; and I just learned of the existence of...
Offering this beautiful bass for sale, which I simply do not play. It needs to go to a home and a user that will enjoy it. And take care of it.

A bunch of parts that came off an MIJ fretless jazz bass. Pickguard, pickups with screws, control plate wiring harness, bridge/screws, and some heavy flatwound strings (not sure of brand). See pics for details. $55 shipped for everything. Thanks for looking!

Do balanced tension flats or tapewounds exist?
I've been thinking of changing one of my P's to a flat/tapewound set up because I just turned 30 and want to get head start on my future.
I ended up buying these over time for a potential pickguard swap but have decided to part these out as I’m no longer interested in holding onto them.
Pickguards show some play.
Each pickguard is priced accordingly:
Nate Mendel pickguard SOLD
Tort pickguard SOLD
Fender MIM 50s gold SOLD
