I played Rob Alexander's Stack Knob back in 1984 when I took some lessons from him. I had a '65 at the time and the '61 neck just felt great. Eric Johnson had given it to him as a gift. I asked how much Eric paid for it and he said $1500. Those were the days...

This is a MIM Fretless Jazz I had modded with concentric knobs. I sold it, but I could get some real use out of a Fender Flea Signature.

Back in the 80's an old friend of mine, Cesar Diaz, brought a beat up white (1960?) stack knob to a rehearsal, he thought I'd like to check it out. That bass had some serious mojo.

That bass is funky, and Eric Johnson doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's a fine guitarist.
