Is a 2x12 Bassman cab with original speakers perfect for low volume rehearsal and sessions? Or should I let a guitar player buy this blondie?

Those don't go down in value. For a few hundred dollars, you could find some nice JBL's that will absolutely transform it into a revitalized impressive cab. On the other hand, I bought a '63 blonde with the wheat grill cloth last November with the original Jensen P12LF drivers that had been re-coned. My first thought was to yank those out and throw in some JBL's, but once I got it dialed in with the bass guitar and 300 watt head, there was no need to do that, perfect sound with lots of volume and bass. Just depends on what original speakers are in it and what condition they're in and the power that you drive them with. You might be pleasantly surprised. Don't forget to "stuff" the cab with insulation or the like.

With the original drivers I’d pass. Bought the whole Blonde Black face Bassman in the late Sixties. it lasted a weekend then went back. Still dislike the unit with a passion today.
With JBLs or EVs installed it might be much better.
