Help please.

I have a broken into 2 pieces 1966 P Bass pickguard that is white/black/white with a 30 degree bevel edge cut (not 45 degree).

I measured the thickness of the guard with digital calipers and taking into consideration shrinkage, 58 years, I get around .097 of an inch thick. So, I assume that originally the pickguard was perhaps, .10 thick. I don't know. I've done a bunch of digging on the internet and I can't find any info about these old pickguards.

Help...............so, I want to replace the original guard and I'm looking for w/b/w pickguard material that is .10 thick. I can not find any material like this on the net. All the w/b/w material is .09.

Do any TalkBass people know where I can find w/b/w pickguard material that's about .10 thick?

My son and I came close with some material from StewMac but the black center piece favored the bottom white layer thus not giving a correct looking bevel cut.

Thanks for your help, people!

I fixed my 1962 jazz PG. I fit the piece and put ALUMINUM FOIL duct tape on the back side. Then wicked a drop of CA glue in from the edge. Gently scraped off overflow when cured.

The tape has very aggressive adhesive and the foil adds strength lengthwise. Also, you’d have to just barely snug the pg screw in that hole by the break.

Mine is tort so you can’t see it, on yours the crack will always be seen, but it’s OEM so that may be important to you.

If you decide to replace it, I wouldn’t sweat over a couple hundredths of an inch. No one will notice. Non issue.
