200.00 budget to make an SB4 sound like a Stingray

There are a lot of aftermarket options for MM type basses. I have an SB4 that I want to upgrade. My budget is 200 bucks. So far, I'm leaning towards a Seymour Duncan pickup and a Mojotone preamp. I'd like your recommendations!

If you want to go with a 2 band preamp, the STC-2S-BO preamp sounds very much like a MM preamp. At $60 bucks that opens your pickup budget up quite a bit.

I recommend you save up and get a real Stingray. Get a part time job if you need to. Good equipment is invaluable.

Stick with the mojotone pre or the diy 2 brand. Cannot comment on the pickup though. Look at www.musikding.de for the classic bass preamp and the linked youtube video(s). I Cannot hear much differences with the pickups...
