2x12 - 2x10 cab project..

So I found this Peavey 1820 cab stripped out one day and this is where it's at now.
I guess I'll call it a 2420 cab.
Tore out the old face last night and made this blank today. Next is hole cutting.

The Definimax 4012HO is an AWESOME woofer. That big motor and 4" voice coil punches like an angry Mike Tyson. I've never used it in a bass cab because of its weight (approximately the same as three Kappalites), but have used it in several custom studio monitors, and most recently in a high-end home audio speaker.

Here's a shot of some studio monitors I did with Definimax woofers:

In the background of one of the pictures is the 2x12 cab it came out of. I've been using them for about 8 years now in that cab with great success. Great sounding speaker great punch and low end. Lately I've been using my 4x10s when I play out so I decided to play around with the 12s in this project. The 10s are BP 10s.

Cool project. Is the section for the 10's sealed like in the original? That was a necessary part of the design to separate the different components so they wouldn't interact.

Yes it is, I'm using Eminence BP10s in that section. According to their parameters they should work fine.
I'm not using a crossover and only running inputs for each section. With that being said they should both be able to handle full range signals if I run it like that. The last time I used my 1820 I used it Biamped with and SVPCL running into the 18" BW and an SVP-PRO into the 10" scorpions. I cut the lows on the Scorpions and added some grind to them, kept the SVPCL clean on low (see pic).
(Below is my original 1820, not being modified)
