3D printed parts - tuner cover

Recently, I purchased a Westone Rail bass. The cover for the tuner block (my name for it - not sure what the right name is) was missing. I don't expect that I will ever find a replacement, so I figured that I would try 3D printing. I sent it with my son to be printed at his school. This is the prototype.

It's not a perfect finish, but I will take it somewhere different for the next try. This was the only color that they had - I will try to have it done in black, and find some black screws.

I'm pretty pleased by this first try.

That's pretty cool. The red comes close enough to matching the finish.

Do you know if it is the same size as the Steinberger part?

No, sorry. I just measured up the dimensions that I needed with a micrometer.

Interesting, though. Honestly, if I had thought of that, I would have put at least some research into it to see if I could use the Steinburger part.

Since it's a prototype, a sharpie might help with the color issue.

That looks different enough from my Steinberger bridge that I doubt the parts are interchangable. Nice job though, that 3d printing is the future of manufacturing. Get it in black, and Bob's your Uncle.
