5 string 24 frets bass, which one?

Hello TBs,
I'm looking for a 5 string 24 frets bass as my main bass, maybe my life-time bass.
Still can't decide which bass I should get.

My price range is around $1000 , new and used both accepted. (but I prefer new)
I play pop, hard rock, sometimes slap, so it should be wide string spacing(>18mm).
I want a tight and clear low B, good playability and quality, great tone with variation, natural wood color finish.
Don't like ebony fretboard.
I'm GAS in Spector NS 5H2 before, but it will cost too much even used one.

There are some bass I consider:
New: Sire M7 Ash.
Used: Carvin V59K, Peavey Cirrus(not sure its string spacing).
Other: (you recommend)

Actually I tend to buy a Sire M7, but I haven't have a chance to play one, still need your recommend.

I was going to recommend the Sire M7, I love mine, though it's fretless, so 24 non-frets on mine! ;) Always better values used than new, though. Your mileage may vary.

I'd suggest you add Lakland to your list.

I understand the reasons for budgets and setting limits, but you should be certain that your budget and the basses you like match up.

I'd try more expensive basses. . . maybe up to a limit of $1500 - $2000, so you can evaluate whether your budget is where you want it to be.

All fantastic suggestions.

The BTB would be right up your alley. Get one with the mid frequency sweep for sure. That's the "secret weapon" of those basses. I had two of them, one with Barts and one with Ibanez pickups. I actually liked the Ibanez ones better as I found they reacted to my playing more and were less "polite" than the Barts.

You simply can't go wrong with Yamaha quality control. You may read or hear a complaint about a Yamaha, but it won't be about fit and finish....just tonal preferences.

Of the choices mentioned in the OP specifically I gotta go with the Carvin.

+1 on this recommendation, highly, and from the OP's choices, I also highly vote for the Cirrus...phenomenal basses, and very consistent quality, at least for the US-made ones.

Sire, I've never tried...seem to get great "bang-for-the-buck" reviews.

I've literally had almost ten Carvins, brand-new, with the last few being 2013s to 2015s, and I only liked two (an '03 LB75 and a '13 B50), because they were so hit-or-miss for me...not consistent at all, imo.

I realize its a bit off the beaten path, and the 16.5mm string spacing my be a deal breaker, but if you can get your hands on an Ibanez SRFF805 fanned fret I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Just be patient... wait a little while to increase your budget and get a bass you'll love.

You can find an older Spector NS-5CRFM or Euro5 for around $1200-$1500 usually (not the Euro 5LX... you don't want the 3-piece body).

I like Spector.
I had a Alex Webster Signature before.
It's a pity I can't deal on the 16.5mm string spacing.
