5 String Active, Ibanez or Yamaha?

So I play hard rock in two bands and I’m needing a five string for one of them. My Fender P is active (18v) and I’d prefer something with a nice, hot signal so I don’t have to change much on my rig between basses. I’ve narrowed it down to the two brands mentioned but, I’m still open to other suggestions. Budget is what brought me to those choices so I’m in the $700 range...lemme know what you think/what your experience with them is please!

I've only heard great things about Yamahas, and I have an Ibanez SR650 which I love.

Both should be great options, and my recommendation is to play one of each and see which feels better to you.

Also, you could tune your 4-string to BEAD if you need the lower notes and don't want to spend much money.
