5 string P-bass - Attitude - Rickenbacker mashup build

I am building a 5 string p-bass that is part p-bass, part Billy Sheehan Attitude bass, and part Rickenbacker.

I have a slab p-bass body, a 5 string bass neck, a piece of a modified Rickenbacker pick guard, a 5 string p-bass pickup and a Stingray humbucker.

I will put the pickups in the Rickenbacker positions and wire it like a 4001 / 4003

It'll be interesting to hear what it sounds like with a MM up near the neck.

I usually use 4 string necks and 4 string pickups, but on this bass I am doing a wide 5 string neck and a 5 string p-bass pickup.

Also the p bass pickup will be reversed. The D/G side will stay in the same place, but the bass side will be flipped so in effect it becomes like the bridge pickup of a Rickenbacker. Also I am not sure about the bridge.

What is the sort of zebrano looking 5 string neck? I saw a guitar kit with a body and neck that looked a lot like that but they referred to it as some sort of 'engineered' wood.

I think I have a couple of the plain maple 5 necks like yours too. One I want to use in a pickup mule.

That grain pattern is awesome.
It almost looks like it already has strings on it.

That neck is going on the 5 string Fenderbird ... although it could go on the p-bass

I have a busy life and I am building 3 basses at once so it might take awhile, but I can't wait to play all three of these basses with my band
