5 String Precision Pickup with 16 mm String Spacing

Hello,

I purchased a Fazley 5 string precision bass the other day. I'm looking to upgrade the pickup and I'd prefer to stay within the traditional look of two pole pieces per string. The string spacing at the bridge saddles is 17 mm and at the pickup is 16 mm. So far the pickups I've looked up with two pole pieces per string are 17 mm at the pickup area.

The dimensions (not including the screws) are 77 mm by 27 mm (BEA) and 57 mm by 27 mm (DG). Dimension's aren't too big of a concern because I can get a new pickguard cut to fit a new pickup if it has different dimensions.

Does anyone know where I can find a precision pickup (with two pole pieces per string) with 16 mm string spacing at the pickup area?

Thanks

I don't know if one exists. Maybe Nordsrtand or someone can make it custom for you? Probably more $.

You should be just fine with the 17mm. The difference is only 1mm, (barely a hair over 1/32") And with pickup centered, your looking 1/64" each direction. Try measuring center to center of the pole pieces, a good chance the pickup isn't 16mm.

Agreed.

I will add that a custom pickup (the solution most likely to get the exact spacing if you insist on that) easily could double the cost of this instrument. Unless you like this bass very much, it's playability and sound, I think it doesn't warrant that kind of expenditure.
