Every once in a while I come across a product that delivers.
Kraftex copper tape is super sticky, conductive glue, and just the right thickness. I've heard (no proof) the adhesive can lose conductivity over time, so I fold over a little tab to also make a mechanical connection.
Amazon sells enough for 4 or 5 instruments for $16
Yes, it's resting on my cat. Why move him just to take a picture?

I just use aluminum HVAC foil tape. Got a 50 yard roll at Menards about 10 years ago for about $7 and still have half of it left. It's not as pretty as the copper stuff, but generally you put the foil in areas you'll never see anyway.
That stuff isn't conductive backing. How do you get continuity?
