So on my way to get a set of strings and a new strap at GC today I got my mom to go with me, on Mother's Day. A few reasons for this.

1) She needs to get out
2) I come from a family of musicians and I knew her eyes would light up like a kid
3) I wanted her to try out an electric piano, it's been years since I have heard her play the keys. And now I know what to get her in June for her birthday.

Anyway after the window shopping and almost time to check out I stopped back by the bass room one more time. While there I turn around and she's gone. I look all around the store, back by the keyboards, nowhere to be found. Then she just pops up at the checkout counter which I had already walked by twice in my quest to find her. Before I can get to the counter the sales person hands her a receipt and she stuffs something in her purse. When questioned on the walk to the car about what she just bought, she says she doesn't know what I'm talking about.

We get in the car, she pulls out a GC bag out of her purse with this strap inside...

It’s great to have a cool mom!
Yes it is!

She's been there for me in every endeavor of my life. And I've repaid in her such ways as letting her ride in the co pilot seat of a Cessna Caravan only to watch me leap out the door at 15,000 ft as I finished up my last jump of a certification course.

Or there was Mother's Day 2011, 3 laps around Dega at 155 with Jeffrey Earnhardt behind the wheel and her strapped in the back seat of a special edition Camaro pace car with me in the passenger seat filming. The video for that is quite hilarious.

Then there was a trip to Lookout Mtn. I was finishing up a hang gliding course. She went to watch. What she didn't know was I had paid for her to take a tandem flight with an instructor. The pictures of that endeavor says it all. Not sure I have ever seen her smile that big.

When I was little and we went to the state fair or Disney World, and we came to rides that required me to be with an adult, she is the one who went with me cause my dad was too chicken.

Then there was this one time in Hawaii, she wanted the helicopter pilot to fly down into a volcano. He of course wouldn't do it. She wasn't too happy with him.

So we know what side I get my daring adventure part from, so she can't blame anyone but herself :roflmao:

When no one else has been there for me, she has...

And after seeing her eyes light up and her fingers play those keys today, come June she's getting that electric piano for her birthday. My gassing for a boutique bass will just have to wait.

Hi,
