ABGs Guild vs Tacoma

Can someone who has played both tell me about unplugged volume of a Tacoma Thunderchief compared to a Guild B50/B30? Most folks seem to put these two as the maximum until you get to an Earthwood or guitarron...both are selling at about the same money. I need to know which to pursue. Please understand I don't care about the electronics or the amped sound. So, who can inform me?

I have all 3 (Thunderchief, Guild B50, Earthwood). I would say go for the Guild if you can find one reasonably priced. Very nearly as much volume as the Earthwood, in a more comfortable and manageable package. I really need to do a more controlled comparison of my ABGs and post the results.

Thanks, exactly the kind of reply I was looking for. There's a Guild on Reverb for $1800...now I just have to decide if I really need another bass. Hmm...maybe I could sell my Grand J-35e Martin...yeah, there's the answer.

Makes me realize what a sweet deal I got on mine last year - even with the 1700 mile drive to pick it up in person!
