Acoustic 4 String Bass Guitars

Uncertain who to actually pose this question to. I have two electric short scale basses. A fender mini p strat I got a little over a month ago (believe it’s about due to be set up by a luthier) and a Ibanez GSRM20BS I got about mid October. Loved the Ibanez the moment I opened it. After it was set up by a luthier it to me is the one I prefer. Like the fender as well, think I will like it more after it’s set up.

The last few weeks I been thinking about an acoustic 4 string that can also go electric. Today musicians friend/guitar center has one on sale a Mitchell T239B-CE-BST Terra Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar. .
I keep going back and forth because I searched out a couple of Ibanez online this one Ibanez AEG Series AEGB24E Acoustic Electric Bass Guitar and this one Ibanez AEB10E.

Not long back I went into a local music shop one of the larger ones to check on them. I found compared to the electric they just aren’t as lap friendly. I’m not even sure any of them were an Ibanez if so I might have tried the twelve not 10.

I love the smaller neck, rich sound tone and ease of the Mikro. It sounded pretty good right out of the box. But looking at that Mitchell it just seems like the Ibanez in a way pre buying it.

I don’t want buyers remorse or feeling it just isn’t the right bass. I had an HH Sterling lake placid blue I returned. It was a beautiful bass. It played well. But at the end of the day it was longer, had a bit bigger neck and I believe I would have had to make myself play it even after it was broken in and taken to the luthier.

A bit of background. I started bass lessons about mid September with a cheap Glarry. I learned to read bass clef and I’m still I would say an intermediate beginner. I work full time in the medical field and I’m female. I’ve written lyrics for over 35 years and I’m pretty decent or good at it. I’m probably my own worst critic if the truth is told. I got a goth thunderbird IV years ago and until this past year I couldn’t play it (it’s too big and bulky for me). I always wanted to learn to play an instrument I just felt bass was probably the best one. Then maybe one day down the road piano. Don’t ask me why. I listen to all genres save classical and opera, I don’t rule that out that one day I might appreciate them.

So all this being said do any pros, especially those who are good at helping someone pick the right instrument have any suggestions and input about the right acoustic bass for me?

Sorry that was long and drawn out.

You might want to consider a bass uke, which is small and comfortable with full bass sound. They come with fat polyurethane strings that tend towards a standup bass. I decided to play bass only because of bass ukes and mini bass guitars. I recommend RondoMusic Haden bass ukes, I've had about 20 various models, now sticking with their violin/Hofner style.
