Hello friends of low frequencies :D i need bass amp I play bass in a church i see this 2 amps for the same price $300 dlls both amps sound very good:) my question is what amp is better?

I'm biased toward the Ampeg, but only because I think it sounds better. But whichever one you like better is the one you should pick.
hi JimmyM , yes the ampeg sound great but But I searched for reviews and say that the pf 350 is damaged soon or the pad or limiter buttons break down fast and that worries me of the ampeg, the acoustic say sounds great too but there is not as much info as ampeg. what do you know about it?

Don't drop it and the PF350 will be fine :D

My take on GC Acoustic's amps is "decent and reasonably priced, but unspectacular."

Better is subjective. They both will get the job done. There is more information out on the Ampeg because it has been out longer than the Class D Acoustic. And pretty soon you're going to get someone slamming Ampeg for earlier Loud Technology issues and someone else is going to slam Acoustic because it is owned by the evil Guitar Center. Take your bass and play them both and see which one you like better, then let us know what you think. I personally would like to hear your opinion.

Not sure if this will influence your decision or not but, I was recently in the same boat trying to decide which head to buy.

Lo and behold both GC's in my area had these Acoustic B300HD heads marked down to $199 on an in-store sale price. I thought I'd take a chance since it's primarily for a backup rig but, also a smaller, compact rig to be used in tight spaces.

Along with that, based on the reviews on this forum and the $100 saved on the amp head, I took a chance on the Acoustic BN112 Neo cab as a part of my compact rig setup.

I can tell you that I'm not unhappy with either. It's a budget friendly setup that doesn't tie up a lot of dollars while spending a good portion of it's life waiting to be pressed into service.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it......it's working out very well in my case....YMMV.

Come back and let us know what you decide.

B300HD update.......

Well, I no longer own the Acoustic B300HD head.

I've used it on two separate gigs in the past week and, while it seemed to work fine at low to moderate volumes, as soon as I started to put some juice to it, it would cut out. No sound and would take about 3 to 5 seconds to recover. I was thinking wireless gone bad, short in my bass.....not a good situation.

Returned it, got my money back and picked up a used PF500 head for less than the new Acoustic. Turns out my guitar player had it and wasn't using it and need the money. Win-win!

Hopefully, this works out better......YMMV

It was a club that we've been gigging in on a monthly basis for the past nine months or so. Never had a problem with the BA210v2 cutting out so, I had to figure the amp.

So far, there's a fairly decent difference between the two. The selectable mids on the PF500 offers up lots of new tonal ground. Been watching You Tube videos.......so far, so good!

Gotcha. Never good when an amp lets you down at a gig. One thing I would do if I were you, since you got it used from your guitarist, is open it up and see if you have the most recent revision. If it is, that should give you a little more peace of mind. JimmyM should have more information on that and probably knows what is the latest revision. Good luck and enjoy your PF500.

The B300HD was a terrible experience for me. New out of the box, it had a non-working compressor. The tone was okay, but nothing special. My PF500, while not directly compared to the B300HD is a much better fit for my needs.

For Acoustic...

Not to start any squabbles with any Acoustic fans, but I haven't heard the Acoustic that I like (at least not yet).

Apparently Ampeg is the best choice in their opinions, apparently the acoustic does not have many references, I have a behringer bx3000t 300w and Behringer Ultrabass BA410 1000W 4x10 Bass Cabinet and I need a better sound somewhat versatile, the fender rumble sounds great but That price reaches me only the 200w

I am using a B600HD as my main head after losing 2 Ampeg Portaflex units to the fault light within the first couple months. Probably got a couple from the same batch(same Guitar Center). They were out of the Ampeg so I brought home the Acoustic and it's been great for me. Similar output to the Ampeg and the EQ is sweet. I don't use the overdrive on the head but that seems pretty straight forward. The fan freaks me out though. It's a direct thermostat driven fan so when idle it will turn a little every couple seconds. After you get some heat in it, it works well. So far so good.

Adding to this old thread for those who may be researching the above. My Acoustic B300HD--bought as a floor moel three months ago for $170--worked great with my 4 ohm 15" Avatar, but cut out and crackeld through my 8 ohm 12" Avatar; both were run with PA support and not pushed hard at all. Years ago I had a failed PF500, but am looking to the PF350, as Jimmy M and others say it is reliable at this point.
