Action Problems From Tenor Reconversion.

Recently I was trying tenor bass with one of my basses, I didn't adjust the action at all as this bass almost never needs it, I just used really light gauge strings. However upon going back to standard tunings the action is horrible and all the strings are hitting the frets as if the neck is bowed downward, will simply loosening the truss rod fix this? Ive tried to let the bass sit and the results haven't changed. This bass is precious to me and I've so rarely made any adjustments because its always played perfectly fine until now, just want to know what the right call is.

It might be the right call. Or it might be a better call to raise the bridge saddles. Now is as good a time as any to learn how to do a proper setup. Not nearly as hard as folks think. Tons of info available with a Google search.
