Adding a 2x10 Hartke HyDrive or 1x15 Hartke HyDrive

2x10 or 1x15

I'm thinking of adding a 2x10 Hartke HyDrive or 1x15 Hartke HyDrive to my existing rig. (See pic) I'm perfectly happy with the sound that I get from just the 4x10 I just need to be able to hear it better. I suffer from hearing loss due to a career around navy aircraft plus I don't seem to have ears in my rear end. I had started a similar thread regarding just adding the 2x10 and thought I'd made up my mind. Then I thought about adding a 1x15 instead. I play in a weekend warrior country band. I'm looking for clarity and punch. I don't use any pedals at all and would like to keep it that way so as to keep my designated stage spot as compact as possible.

A 1x15 cabinet is probably as tall as the 410, so that would bring the speakers that much higher to ear-level, which would allow you to hear it better. The 2x10, obviously, would bring it up half-way.
I would say, if you could, get a matching 4x10 to keep all things equal on the side of the speakers. Different sensitivity ratings and how many watts are sent to each cab may make one sound louder that the other is they are of a different configuration.

But if you are looking to stay compact, a better way of doing that is to use a dual 2x10 vertical stack....best of both worlds; small footprint and speakers at ear-level.

That image screams "WOOTEN" all over it, from the Monarch to the Hydrive..... Nice setup brother!

For ever what reason Uncle Bruce prefered side by side stacking of 410+115.

Some folks may claim Jack was payed money by marketing department to "show" the mixing cab gear to the audience (as it is frequently claimed for any pro bass player doing it the same way). Jack was well known to be very picky on his gear and I can't imagine he might be payed any money to do a side by side stacking on stage.
