Adding Rattle Can Gloss Finish to Fretboard and Headstock Face

Hi, working on assembling a Warmoth jazz and I had them finish the neck in satin vintage nitro. After seeing the parts together, it would look better with gloss on fretboard and face of headstock. I'm thinking all I need to do is tape off the sides and bottom and buy the right rattle can. Is that right and which type of gloss would you use?

I'm curious about this too. It looks like you have a medium scale warhead neck. I am looking to get a Warmoth with a medium scale warhead, but I want to reshape the headstock a little to resemble a tele headstock. I would need to refinish the area afterwards, but would like to know exactly what to use.

In my case I wanted a satin nitro finish on the back and sides so I ordered it that way and I don't recall seeing an option for just the fretboard and face of headstock. I'm assuming I shouldn't apply poly over nitro.

Hmmm, didn't know I could do that. One other goal was to add a few layers of finish over the top of a decal I'm adding to the headstock.

Yes, easily so - less is more, especially on the fb and neck. Adding more over the hs (after adding a decal) is understandable but no need to add more product over the frets.
