Finally found one here so I get to play with a trem now! So, I've watched the set up videos from Kahler, and it comes with a routing template. I won't be doing the install. I'm looking for any advise for these. Don't waste time with dumb ass wise cracks please. I like it, looks and sounds cool to me.

I've had them in two or three basses over the years. The last one I had was in my 70 or 71 P. Had it removed and had the rout filled. They are a lot of fun. Very heavy though. Surprisingly kept in tune very well without having to do anything special. I just had to avoid pulling up too much. What are you putting it in?

Probably a custom that's shaped like an explorer or a hamer style Thunderbird

Lol. I hear you. Did Sixx ever have a Kahler or use one on a specific track?
He had em on his Hamers for theatre of pain. Only thing I've ever heard it on is the end of smoking in the boys room.

If your headstock has a string tree you might try this one: Roller Bass String Tree | Allparts.com

I have a Kahler on my old Pbass. Don’t actually use it that much anymore but it always gets attention and is useful to annoy guitar players.

And, just for @Killed_by_Death benefit, I DID lose the bar but the threads it screws into are 1/4-20 or 1/4-28 so a piece of 1/4” stainless bar stock and a die and she was back in business with a custom bend to the bar.

Good luck finding anyone with experience putting in a non-factory Khaler.
It's not exactly a common mod.
That said, I've always wanted a Carvin V440 with a Khaler. I have the guitar version and it's a lot of fun.
